OUR TEAM

PAREDI is governed by a Board of Directors composed of experts in pastoralist development, climate change adaptation, conservation, education, health, Finance and governance. The board provides strategic oversight and ensures that the organization adheres to its mission and values. The day-to-day operations of PAREDI are managed by an Executive Director, who is supported by a team of program managers, field officers, and administrative staff.

Dr. Edward Lolokuru

BOARD CHAIRPERSON

Dr. Edward Lolokuru is the chairperson of the PAREDI Board. He has a master’s degree in business administration (Strategic Management) and a degree in Veterinary Medicine. He is widely experienced in humanitarian assistance and livestock production systems having worked both in Government and Non-Governmental Organizations for over 25 years. He is passionate about initiating community projects that meet community needs and provides innovative solutions for pastoralist communities towards reducing poverty and creating wealth.

Dr. Geoffrey Lelenguyah

SECRETARY & FOUNDER

Dr. Geoffrey Lelenguyah is the Secretary and Founder of PAREDI. He is an Ecologist with specialization in Dryland Ecology and Pastoral Livelihoods and over 15 years experience  in  work  related  to  natural  resource  management;  range  management, veterinary  vectors control and management; wildlife ecology and research  and  pastoralism and pastoral livestock production systems. He comes from Samburu County and will be instrumental in overseeing PAREDI programmes implementation in this area.

Mrs. Peninah Bariwan

BOARD TREASURER

Mrs. Peninah Bariwan is a teacher by profession and holder of a Bachelor of Education with Information Technology degree. She has over 7 years experience in teaching and mentorship. She is also currently undertaking a masters degree in Psychology. She comes from Laikipia County and will be instrumental in overseeing PAREDI programmes implementation in this area.

Mr. Abdullahi Wario

BOARD MEMBER

Mr. Abdullahi Wario is a retired civil servant with over 33 years experience in animal production, livestock marketing and range management. He is a graduate of animal production with vast knowledge in pastoralists resilience, conflict management and environmental conservation. He comes from Isiolo County and will be instrumental in overseeing PAREDI programmes implementation in this area.

Mr. Laban Labatt

BOARD MEMBER

Mr. Laban Labatt is a retired civil servant with over 30 years experience in livestock production, pastoral production systems, range rehabilitation, beekeeping and livestock marketing. He is a graduate of Natural Resource Management (Arid lands management option). He is also an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment and Audit lead expert. He comes from Baringo County and will be instrumental in overseeing PAREDI programmes implementation in this area.

Mrs. Mary Letikirich

BOARD MEMBER

Mrs. Mary Letikirich has joined the PAREDI Board of Directors, bringing over 20 years of humanitarian experience and 9 years as a nurse and counselor in Samburu County. Her work has focused on improving the well-being of vulnerable communities, particularly women and children. With a strong background in healthcare and social support, she will play a key role in advancing PAREDI’s mission to build resilience in pastoralist communities through sustainable development, health, and community welfare initiatives in arid and semi-arid regions.

Mr. Douglas Leboiyare

BOARD MEMBER

Mr. Douglas Leboiyare is currently the Kirisia Community Forest Association (CFA) Chairperson. In addition, he is a transformative leader who has represented the Samburu pastoralist community in various forums including being a member of County Assembly of Samburu. He has the interests of the community at heart and therefore strives to ensure that the interests of the community are given a priority. Through his leadership, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) honored the Kirisia Community Forest Association in Kenya for their efforts towards Kirisia Forest restoration under the FAO Achievements Awards programme. 

Ms. Rosela Tuken

BOARD MEMBER

Ms. Rosela Tuken is a first-class Honors in Business administration (Finance) from United States International University – Africa (USIU-A). She has over six years’ experience in Finance field and has also served as a member of Executive Audit Committee for Samburu County Government. She is also a published author and enthusiastic about youth empowerment. She plays a very vital role in ensuring financial compliance in PAREDI’s work-planning and budgeting.
